MMR/IMR

Safe delivery project took place in Khunti District, Jharkhand, and stands as one of our many success stories in the region. In 2008, the Karra Society for Rural Action (KSRA), in collaboration with the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and UNICEF, launched an initiative to reduce maternal mortality rate (MMR) and infant mortality rate (IMR). As part of this effort, a call center was established at KSRA's Head Office, and ambulances were stationed at panchayats to transport women in labor to the nearest government hospitals for safer deliveries. The program's success led to its adoption by the government, which continues to run it to this day.
