Karra Society for Rural Action (KSRA) was established in the year 1985 with the noble aim of uplifting socially downtrodden communities belonging to both rural and urban areas including the Tribal, particularly in the Jharkhand State.
KSRA vision is to build itself into an institution that is capable of building strong communities through various training and capacity building programs. Thus, enabling them to take their own development initiatives towards self-reliant and self-sustainable society.
KSRA aims to build self sustaining and self reliant communities with major thrust on tribal and vulnerable communities through programs focused on health, nutrition, livelihood, agriculture, agro-forestry, skill development, child protection, youth collective, rights and entitlements, forest protection and skill development in region of Jharkhand.
a) To promote development activities such as education, health, nutrition, agriculture, agro-forestry, child protection, rights and entitlements, skill development etc. keeping in view the promoting of people of Bihar / Jharkhand.
b) To work for the upliftment of the most backward and vulnerable people, especially in Jharkhand.
c) To work in collaboration with Government and other organizations to ensure the protection of children and prevent all forms of child abuse.
d) To eradicating hunger, poverty and malnutrition, promoting health care including preventive health and sanitation.
e) Organize training opportunities for underprivileged youth (men and women) and help them become self-reliant.
f) To work for reducing the effects of climate change, ensuring environmental sustainability, ecological balance, protection of flora and fauna, animal welfare, agro-forestry, conservation of natural resources and maintaining quality of soil, air and water.
g) Rural development programme and slum area development program including disaster management, relieve and rehabilitation.
h) To engage in all such law full acts which are conducive to the above objects, in consonance with the laws of the land and which promote the interests of the vulnerable and backward communities.
